The South Africa Manganese operation can be found in the manganese rich Kalahari Basin, in the country’s Northern Cape, which is home to 80 per cent of the world's manganese. This position is based at our Wessels Mine which represents one of the largest manganese reserves in South Africa.

ABOUT THE ROLE:
This role is a fixed term contract position.
As an Operator Hauler you will be responsible to haul manganese and waste material from the applicable loading area to the allocated destination, either a waste dump, underground stockpile and tips area.
Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:
- Participate in investigations into workplace incidents;
- Report any unsafe behaviour, conditions and incidents to the responsible person;
- Operate mobile equipment based on operational requirements;
- Keep mobile equipment clean and in a good condition all the time;
- Operate various mobile equipment based on operational requirements.
- Conduct pre-use inspections, routine inspections and report defects;
- Conduct risk assessment before all tasks andidentify risks and hazards;

Requirements
- You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:
- Minimum 1 years’ experience in operating mobile equipment in a mining environment;
- Mining production experience in underground mining operations is essential;
Only applicants from the surrounding communities will be considered.
- Applicants must submit the following documents to be considered:
- A valid South African ID
- A brief CV
- Proof of residence (copy of municipal water & lights, or a letter from a Council member or Chief)
- Copies of qualifications
Qualifications for this role are:
- Grade 12 with Mathematics;
- Valid Drivers Licence is essential;
- Competency A Certificate is advantageous.
- A minimum of two valid equipment licenses on either CAT ADT30 Hauler, other relevant licenses (Rock breaker, Loader, Water bowser, Dozer, Bob Cat, Normet scaler) will be advantageous ;
